A word from the builder

Three Generations of Builders

It was my grandfather who who began the tradition. After years of being a trim carpenter and framer in the Niagara region, he started a his own home construction company. My father also entered the trade and the two worked together building homes for some time. Later, my father went to work for an established home building company for nearly 25 years as a working site supervisor.

I began in the cabinet and kitchen end of the industry. During high school I worked in a wood working shop sanding and finishing furniture and cabinets. I would also work for my dad during the summers and Saturdays as needed. After this I took a full time job as a siding installer working on many custom homes and meeting many different builders, people and trades. Eventually I went to work for the same builder as my father in 2001

I had a wide range of jobs including forming and pouring footings, installing weeping tile around foundations, water and damp-proofing foundations, framing, insulating, drawing, reading and understanding blueprints, surveying at time of dig, building decks and fences and filling in for my dad as a supervisor on occasion.

How Raydence Began

After purchasing and renovating a property in Vineland, my wife Rachel and I eventually severed this property and built our new home on this lot. This process taught us both a great deal about new home construction, contracting and everything involved.

Eventually we sold these properties and purchased land in Fenwick with the intention to build our dream home. This process taught us a great deal about the real estate end of the industry. After carefully considering what we wanted in a home and factoring in neighborhood and resale, we built our home.

After a few busy years at work in the housing industry and starting a family, we found time to apply, study and do the testing required to become registered with the Tarion Warranty Corporation. Once registered, we then purchased another large lot and built our first home to sell. Hiring an agent this time promoted the home and it sold a few months later.

The next step was to think of a name and become incorporated. The name RAYDENCE is a blend of my wife's name Rachel and my daughter's name Caydence. After this, the work came quickly and before we even had enough tools we were busy.
